Madeline + Tyler | A Summer Savannah Yacht Club Wedding
I’ve known Madeline and her family for many years and was thrilled when she called on me to capture their wedding in Savannah where she and Tyler live. My assistant Tara and I packed up and drove down to Savannah and made a weekend out of it, and what a blast it was! The wedding day started at a quaint beach house on Tybee Island, about 20 minutes from Savannah. While it wasn’t really beach season, the weather was warm with perfect blue skies. Madeline crafted and made many of the wedding details herself, including the invitations and bridesmaid gifts. I really loved the personalized sunglasses that read “Team Albritton” on them! They made for a few fun shots with the bridal party!
The quiet coastal breeze blew through the Spanish Moss as we strolled through historic Forsythe Park in Savannah taking Wedding party photos. We saw three (!!) other weddings that day in Forsythe Park and we made a pit stop to see Forrest Gump’s bench! Madeline + Tyler’s ceremony at the Cathedral of St John the Baptist was a gorgeous traditional Savannah catholic ceremony and I was in awe working in such a historic and stunning cathedral. You really have to see it in person to appreciate it’s magnitude and beauty.
The reception was held at The Savannah Yacht Club and the weather and lighting could not have been more perfect! The venue is right on the edge of pristine marsh land and the Live Oak trees are literally dripping with Spanish moss. Madeline is a baker and made individual wedding cakes in many different flavors for each table centerpiece!! It was such a unique and personal touch that I have never seen before! After a lovely dinner and the cake was cut (a cheesecake! how fun!) we danced the night away under the stars next to the water. Congratulations Madeline + Tyler – I can’t wait to see you again! Your Summer Savannah Yacht Club Wedding was one of my favorites!
